PANJIM: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Saturday said that provisions made in the Union budget 2024-25 will help enhance Goa’s infrastructure and facilities and make it a leading attractive tourist destination in the country.
Speaking to mediapersons in the BJP office, here, Rijiju said that besides tourism, fisheries industry in the State will also benefit from budgetary provisions. He said world-class infrastructure had been set up in Goa over the last 10 years.

Rijiju said that Goa received Rs 4,814.23 crore from the devolution of taxes and duties in the last 10 years under the Modi government, which was a substantial increase compared to what the State received during previous Congress-led UPA regime.
When the UPA government was in power, Goa’s tax devolution from the Centre was meagre from 2009 to 2014, which has jumped by a whopping 217 per cent while grant-in-aid rose by 73.91 per cent during 2014-2024,” he added. He said that the fishing industry in the coastal State will prosper because of the provisions made in the budget and Goa will become one of the most leading manufacturing hub. Given Goa’s small land mass, emphasis is given on natural farming and also it required agro-based industry will take a leap in the next few years.
