Goa Human Rights Commission Probes Inhumane Conditions of St Cruz Garbage Collectors

The Goa Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance of a complaint highlighting alleged inhuman working conditions faced by door-to-door garbage collectors in St Cruz. In response, the Commission has issued notices to the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Tiswadi and the Secretary of the St Cruz Village Panchayat.

The officials have been directed to appear in person or through a representative and submit a detailed reply to the allegations by June 20. The complaint reportedly outlines poor treatment and lack of basic facilities for the garbage collection staff.
