Goa Launches First Automated Traffic Violation Detection System at Mollem Check Post

Goa’s first Auto mated Authentication Elec tronic system for detecting traffic violations has been installed at the Mollem Check Post and became operational on Wednesday. While vehicle verification at other border check posts is currently manual, the system is expected to be rolled out across the state in due course. The technology scans vehicle number plates as they approach the check post and displays the cor responding vehicle docu ments on its screen. Ponda Traffic PI Krishna Sinhari said the system will auto matically detect violations based on registration num bers. E-challans will be generated digitally for any infractions and sent via SMS to the mobile number registered with the vehicle. Vehicles operating without valid documents such as reg istration certificates, pollution under control (PUC) certifi cates, or insurance will be penalized in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Act. The government had tasked the Info Tech Corporation of Goa Limited with developing the real-time vehicle mon itoring system, and implementation has been awarded to Mistotex Technology Pvt Ltd for a period of five years
