‘I will die, help’: Indian worker’s SOS from Saudi prompts embassy action

Viral video shows Prayagraj man pleading for help from Saudi Arabia; Indian Embassy and local authorities seek details to assist him.

The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia has responded to a viral video showing a man from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, claiming he is being held against his will in the Gulf nation. The embassy said it is attempting to locate the individual but cannot take further action as the video lacks precise details about his location, employer, or contact information.

The embassy has asked Delhi-based lawyer Kalpana Shrivastav, who shared the clip online, to help provide additional information. Authorities in Prayagraj have also been contacted, with officials encouraged to assist the man’s family in reaching out via [email protected].

The video, in Bhojpuri, shows the man speaking to the camera with a camel in the background, pleading for help and urging viewers to share the clip widely so that Indian authorities, including the Prime Minister, can intervene. As of now, Indian officials have not confirmed his identity or location.
