Two More Arrested in Vijay Marine Shipyard Fire Case; All Accused Released on Bail

Maina-Curtorim Police ar rested two more persons in connection with the recent fire incident that oc curred at the Vijay Marine Shipyard in Rassaim, Loutolim. The two who have been arrested have been identified as Jeelan Mudagal (45), a native of Karnataka, and Haresh Chawla (50), from Chicalim. The tragic incident has so far claimed five lives and left a worker injured. Both the accused were later released on bail. It may be recalled that the police had arrested Raju Bora, the shipyard’s safe ty officer, for alleged negligence that led to the deaths and injuries of workers. Bora, originally from Assam, currently residing in Quelossim was released on bail of Rs 10,000 with one surety of the same amount. All the accused who were arrested, including the Safety Officer, have been released. Those who died in the tragic incident were Ser Ali, resident of Zuarinagar, Abishake Kumar and Manish Chauhan, both from Uttar Pradesh, Vinod De ewan and Santosh Kumar, both from Chhattisgarh.
