The impact was so intense that one of the motorcycles was dragged for several metres. The victims, identified as 40-year-old Ismail and his wife, Sameen Banu, who were riding a Honda Dio scooter, died instantly due to the force of the collision.

Two others sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, including whether the ambulance driver was speeding or lost control due to brake failure.
