The Enforcement Directorate on Friday carried out searches at 25 locations connected to Haryana-based Al-Falah University as part of an expanding investigation into the institution’s funding. Among the premises raided was the university’s office in Delhi’s Okhla area. The university’s main campus spans 70 acres in Faridabad.
The intensified scrutiny comes after three doctors associated with the university were named as suspects in the recent Delhi blast case. Following government directives, the central agency has initiated a detailed probe into the university’s financial structure. A forensic audit of its accounts has also been ordered.

Alongside the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation, the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has begun examining financial irregularities and other operational aspects of the university. While the National Investigation Agency (NIA) continues to lead the probe into the blast, the ED and EOW are independently investigating potential violations related to funding and governance at the institution.
Al-Falah University is already entangled in two cases after both the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) flagged irregularities in its accreditation claims. These cases involve charges of cheating and forgery.
Further compounding its troubles, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has suspended the university’s membership, citing concerns that it “does not appear to be in good standing.”
