Air India Passenger’s Gun Goes Off At Varanasi Airport, Woman And Boy Injured

Two people were injured after a pistol carried by an Air India passenger accidentally went off at Varanasi airport.

The passenger, who was travelling from Azamgarh to Mumbai on an Air India flight, was carrying a pistol and a magazine. Both the firearm and magazine had reportedly been declared by the passenger as required.

The pistol suddenly discharged at the airport. The bullet first struck the ground before hitting two people who were standing nearby. A woman sustained a gunshot injury to her thigh, while a boy suffered an injury to his hand.

The injured woman and boy were immediately taken to a private hospital in Harhua for treatment. Their condition was not immediately known.
