GPCC President Amit Patkar said the Congress is deliberately holding back its Zilla Panchayat candidate list until the election notification is issued, alleging that the BJP is monitoring every move. According to Patkar, the ruling party wants to see Congress candidates first and may even attempt to postpone the elections if it senses strong contenders on the opposition side. He termed this a calculated strategy designed to assess and counter Congress preparations. Patkar added that the party is finalising its selections but wants to prevent any political manipulation before the official schedule is announced, ensuring a fair contest once the process formally begins.
