Swiggy riders protest in Panaji over steep cut in per-kilometre pay

Food delivery workers associated with Swiggy in Panaji staged a protest on Thursday, alleging a sharp reduction in their earnings following changes in the payment structure. The group, comprising more than 500 riders, claimed that they are now paid ₹5–₹6 per kilometre, compared to the earlier rate of ₹10 per kilometre.

The riders are urging Swiggy management to introduce a combined salary calculation system based on the total bill amount per order and the distance travelled. They warned that demonstrations will continue and similar protests are planned in Margao and other parts of Goa until their demands are addressed.
