MAPUSA: United Boys of Ambaulim had to wait for the penalty shoot before they finally got the better of Goa United Sports Academy by 6-5 margin in the 17th All-Goa Pio Jose Goveia Memorial Football trophy organised by YSC Colvale at Colvale Church ground.
In the 10th minute, Goa United SA goalkeeper Philip brought off a spectacular save denying Teron Fernandes from scoring.
UB Ambaulim took the lead in the 32nd minute through stinging left footer by Alfiano Fernandes beating the Goa United SA goalkeeper Philip in spite of his diving attempt, 1-0.
In the 48th minute, Dailon Carvalho made it 2-0 in favour of UB Ambaulim tapping in a rebound of the Goa United SA goalkeeper.
In the very next minute, Pedro Gonsalves pulled one back for Goa United SA with a cool placement, 2-1.
Pedro Gonsalves of Goa United SA thereafter convert a late penalty to make it 2-2.
With the match ending in a 2-2 draw, the penalty shoot-out was enforced where UB Ambaulim won by 5-4 margin.
UB Ambaulim will now cross swords with YSC Colvale in the semi-final on December 27.
