Congress–Goa Forward Alliance Wins Goa University Students’ Council Election After 15 Years

The Congress–Goa Forward Alliance has registered a decisive victory in the Goa University Students’ Council elections, marking a significant political development on campus after a gap of 15 years.

Reacting to the results, Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai said the win reflected the power of unity, sustained hard work, and the trust reposed by students in a progressive vision. He described the outcome as a clear endorsement of democratic values and collaborative politics.

“After 15 years, the Congress–Goa Forward Alliance has won the Goa University Students’ Council elections. This victory reflects unity, hard work, and the faith of students in a progressive vision. Democracy wins, unity works,” Sardesai said in a statement.

The victory is being seen as a morale booster for the alliance, underlining the importance of collective effort and coordination, particularly among the youth. Student supporters celebrated the win on campus, terming it a mandate for inclusive representation and constructive engagement with student issues.

The results are expected to energise the alliance and influence future student-led initiatives at Goa University.

Frazer Andrade completed his schooling at Loyola High School, Margão, and pursued higher secondary education at Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim. He holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Pharmacy from Goa College of Pharmacy, Panjim. His interests also include gardening, cycling, and writing. An enthusiastic ambassador for Goa, he takes pride in sharing its rich heritage. Frazer has published two pharmaceutical research papers in international journals and co-authored a research article on art conservation.
