Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has clarified that no arrests took place during the Unity Mall protests, countering claims circulating on social media. According to the Chief Minister, the women who were seen inside police vehicles had entered on their own and were not forcibly taken into custody. He further stated that the government has decided not to arrest any protesters in connection with the agitation. The clarification was issued after visuals from the protest sparked widespread discussion. Sawant said police personnel exercised restraint and acted responsibly while handling the situation. He reiterated that peaceful protest is a democratic right and assured that the administration would continue to balance public order with citizens’ right to express dissent.
