Concerned parents have urged the government and local authorities to take immediate steps to address the growing garbage problem at the Ayyappa Temple junction near Hedgewar School, citing serious health and safety risks to schoolchildren.
According to parents, heaps of uncollected waste, foul odour and the presence of stray animals have turned the busy junction into an unhygienic and hazardous spot. With students passing through the area daily, especially during peak school hours, parents fear the situation could lead to the spread of diseases and even accidents.

They pointed out that despite repeated complaints to the authorities, the situation has seen little improvement. Residents have demanded urgent clearing of accumulated garbage, regular waste collection, installation of covered garbage bins and strict monitoring to curb illegal dumping.
Describing the junction as a sensitive area due to the presence of both a school and a place of worship, parents have appealed to the government to intervene and ensure a permanent solution at the earliest.
