Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant have expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, paying rich tributes to his leadership and lifelong public service.
In his condolence message, Prime Minister Modi described Ajit Pawar as a true leader of the people with a strong grassroots connect. He said Pawar was widely respected as a hardworking leader who remained at the forefront of serving the people of Maharashtra. The Prime Minister also highlighted Pawar’s deep understanding of administrative matters and his passion for empowering the poor and downtrodden, calling his sudden passing shocking and deeply saddening. He extended condolences to Pawar’s family and his countless admirers.
Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant also condoled the demise, stating that Ajit Pawar’s tragic death marks the end of a distinguished social and political career spanning more than three decades. He said Pawar made immense contributions to the progress and development of Maharashtra and would be remembered for his dedication to public life.
