The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Konkan Railway significantly strengthened passenger safety and security over the past year through a series of proactive and targeted operations, resulting in recoveries, rescues and arrests across its network.
Under Operation Amanat, the RPF successfully traced and returned belongings of 252 passengers valued at ₹122.48 lakh, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding passenger property. The initiative focuses on reuniting travellers with lost or misplaced valuables.
Through Operation Nanhe Farishte, the RPF rescued 98 minor children, preventing them from falling into vulnerable situations and ensuring their safe rehabilitation with the assistance of concerned authorities.
The force also intensified vigilance under Operation Satark, which led to the seizure of 6,877 bottles of illicit liquor and the arrest of 65 bootleggers, curbing illegal activities within railway premises.
In addition, RPF personnel saved four lives under Operation Jeevan Raksha, demonstrating swift response and presence of mind during emergencies. The force also arrested 40 individuals involved in luggage theft cases and recovered stolen property worth ₹48.67 lakh.
Konkan Railway officials said the achievements reflect the RPF’s sustained efforts to enhance safety, security and passenger confidence through vigilance, coordination and public-focused policing.
