A patient, reportedly in an inebriated condition, created chaos inside the casualty ward of Asilo Hospital in Mapusa, putting the safety of resident doctors and other staff at serious risk.
According to eyewitnesses, the man appeared visibly agitated and went on a rampage inside the ward, hurling objects, smashing items and shouting abusive language. He was also seen without a T-shirt and had visible injuries around his mouth.

The incident occurred while resident doctors were attending to patients in the casualty ward, allegedly without any security personnel present on the premises. Doctors said the lack of security made it difficult to control the situation and exposed healthcare workers to potential physical harm.
Following the incident, doctors have demanded immediate deployment of adequate security staff at the hospital, stating that their noble profession should not come at the cost of their personal safety.
Hospital authorities are expected to review the security arrangements to prevent such incidents in the future.
