India suffered a brief injury scare ahead of their T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Namibia after wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan was struck on the foot during a training session in Delhi. The incident occurred when Jasprit Bumrah delivered a sharp yorker that hit Kishan on the toe, leaving the batter in visible pain and momentarily down on the ground. With the match scheduled at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on February 12, the development initially raised concerns within the Indian camp.
The scare came at a time when the team was already dealing with fitness worries, as opener Abhishek Sharma had recently been hospitalised due to a stomach infection. However, there was encouraging news later in the session when Kishan returned to the nets and continued practice. Reports suggested he walked back to the dressing room with a slight limp but appeared comfortable.
Kishan had scored 20 off 16 balls in India’s opening match against the USA, while he recently impressed in the New Zealand T20 series, accumulating 215 runs in four innings. His availability remains important as India aim to maintain momentum in the tournament.
