Stating that the party’s process of selecting candidates is in full swing, Babush Monserrate on Thursday said that applications from aspirants have already been examined and the next step will be the filing of nominations.
Responding to media queries, Monserrate said nominations are scheduled to be submitted on Friday. However, he clarified that the final list of candidates will become clear only after the withdrawal date, as changes and adjustments remain possible.

He added that revisions to the list cannot be ruled out and there is still scope for the inclusion of new faces, indicating that the party is keeping its options open while finalising its line-up.
Monserrate also emphasised that the selection exercise is being carried out carefully to ensure the party fields strong and winnable candidates.
