Curtorim Gram Sabha Opposes Large Housing Projects Over Infrastructure and Environmental Concerns

Villagers in Curtorim have strongly opposed proposed large-scale housing developments in the area, passing a resolution at a special gram sabha meeting calling for the projects to be halted.

Residents raised concerns that the proposed construction of flats and villas could place significant strain on local infrastructure, water resources, and the surrounding environment. Several villagers noted that the existing road network and civic amenities may not be adequate to support a sudden increase in population.

During the meeting, locals stressed the need for a comprehensive assessment before any further permissions are granted. The gram sabha resolved that approvals for new housing projects should be withheld until a detailed study evaluating long-term environmental and infrastructural impacts is carried out.

The resolution passed at the meeting is expected to be forwarded to higher authorities for further consideration and action.
