Grenade Attack Outside BJP Office in Chandigarh: CCTV Captures Suspects, Police Launch Manhunt

A grenade explosion outside a BJP office in Chandigarh on Thursday triggered a major security alert, with police launching an intensive search for two unidentified suspects involved in the attack.

According to police sources, the incident occurred in Sector 37, where two individuals arrived on a motorcycle. One of the accused was seen in a self-recorded video pulling the pin of a grenade and hurling it near the Punjab BJP office. The explosive device landed close to a parked scooter before detonating.

The video footage also captured the suspect fleeing the scene immediately after the blast. Both attackers managed to escape on their motorcycle, officials confirmed.

Authorities stated that CCTV cameras in the area have recorded clear images of the suspects, aiding efforts to identify and apprehend them. A manhunt has been launched, and multiple teams have been deployed to track them down.

Senior police officials, including the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), rushed to the site soon after the incident and initiated a detailed investigation. Forensic experts were also called in to examine the scene and gather evidence.

In the wake of the attack, central intelligence agencies have been placed on high alert, and security has been tightened across key locations in the region.
