New Delhi: In the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced that a new IMU CET examination centre will be established in Goa starting from the academic year 2025–26.
The announcement came in response to a query raised by South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes, who highlighted the growing number of candidates registering for the entrance examination.
The move is expected to benefit aspiring maritime students in Goa by providing easier access to the IMU CET, eliminating the need to travel outside the state for the test.
Officials noted that the decision was taken in view of the increasing demand and registrations, aiming to improve convenience and encourage more students to pursue careers in the maritime sector.
