In a significant development in the Birch nightclub fire case, the Mapusa Additional Sessions Court has granted bail to the accused, the Luthra brothers, observing that the charges against them do not constitute offences of the gravest nature.
While allowing bail, the court noted that the allegations, even at their highest, do not indicate any intention on the part of the accused to cause death. This observation played a key role in the court’s decision to grant relief to the Luthra brothers.
The case pertains to a fire incident at the Birch nightclub, which had raised serious concerns regarding safety compliance and accountability. However, the court’s remarks suggest that, at this stage, the evidence does not point towards deliberate intent leading to loss of life.
Further proceedings in the case are expected as the investigation and trial continue.
