Dabolim Airport Told to Provide More Space for Police Station

The Goa Human Rights Commission has instructed Dabolim Airport to allocate additional space for its police station, highlighting concerns over inadequate infrastructure. As per the directive, the airport will provide an extra 121 square metres in the basement, adding to the 190 square metres that had already been approved earlier.

Currently, the airport police station operates out of temporary porta cabins, which the Commission noted are not suitable for efficient functioning. With increasing passenger movement and security demands, the need for a well-equipped and permanent facility has become more pressing.

The Commission emphasised that improved infrastructure is essential for both police and traffic units managing airport operations. Authorities have been directed to comply with the order and upgrade facilities at the earliest.

An action taken report has been sought by June 23, 2026, underlining the urgency of the issue. The move is expected to significantly enhance working conditions and overall efficiency of law enforcement services at the airport.
