Vaibhav Suryavanshi injury update: RR star suffers hamstring scare after 36-ball century

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s night in Jaipur was as dramatic as it gets—an unforgettable century followed by an injury scare that left everyone anxious. The Rajasthan Royals opener hammered a stunning 36-ball hundred against Sunrisers Hyderabad, placing himself among the fastest centurions in IPL history.

But the momentum shifted during the second innings. While attempting to stop a boundary off Ishan Kishan’s shot, Sooryavanshi pulled up sharply, clutching his hamstring. He went down briefly and later walked off with visible discomfort, assisted by support staff.

The situation initially appeared serious, with the youngster struggling to move freely. After a long innings in the Jaipur heat, physical strain could have contributed to the issue.

However, there was relief later as batting coach Vikram Rathour suggested the injury was not serious. He confirmed that Sooryavanshi was feeling better after treatment, though a final assessment is still awaited.

Before the injury, Sooryavanshi had already delivered a performance for the ages. His 36-ball century was a display of pure power and intent.

He raced to a 15-ball fifty and struck 12 sixes, the most by an Indian in an IPL innings. He also reached 1000 T20 runs at record pace. At just 15, Sooryavanshi is rapidly building a reputation as one of the most exciting talents in the league.
