Prominent citizens and political leaders participated in the ongoing local body elections across Gujarat, highlighting the importance of democratic engagement. Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airport Holdings Limited, along with his wife Diva Shah, cast their votes at a polling station in Ahmedabad. The couple participated actively as voting continued across the state.
Amit Shah also exercised his franchise at a polling booth in Gandhinagar, accompanied by his family, including Sonal Shah, Jay Shah, and Rishita Patel. After voting, Shah visited a temple and offered prayers, later displaying his inked finger along with family members.
Meanwhile, Bhupendra Patel cast his vote in Ahmedabad, emphasizing that elections represent a “festival of democracy” and urging citizens to fulfill their civic duties. Harsh Sanghavi voted in Surat and expressed confidence in strong voter participation and continued development under Narendra Modi.
Elections are being conducted for 15 municipal corporations, including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot, along with 84 municipalities, 34 district panchayats, and 260 taluka panchayats. Polling began at 7 AM, with counting scheduled for April 28. Authorities anticipate high voter turnout as citizens actively participate in shaping local governance and future development.
