A 55-year-old woman was allegedly murdered inside her house at Chikane-Kudnem in Bicholim on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Shaila Sanjay Ghadi. According to police sources, authorities are searching for a youth from Sawantwadi who was reportedly known to the victim’s family.

Preliminary investigations suggest that an argument allegedly broke out between the accused and the woman, during which he is suspected to have assaulted her, leading to her death.
Police said the accused allegedly fled from the scene with the victim’s mobile phone and gold chain. He later reportedly used the same mobile phone to contact the woman’s daughters and inform them about the incident.
Bicholim Police have registered a case of murder and launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
A forensic team and dog squad were deployed at the crime scene to assist with the probe, while efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the suspect.
