Muslims across Goa celebrated Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, with religious fervour and strong community spirit as hundreds of devotees gathered at mosques and Eidgahs across the state to offer special prayers.
Despite pre-monsoon showers reported in several parts of Goa, people turned out in large numbers early in the morning to participate in Eid prayers and religious observances associated with the festival.
Devotees dressed in traditional attire assembled at prayer grounds and mosques, where religious leaders delivered sermons highlighting the values of sacrifice, compassion, unity, and charity that define Eid al-Adha.
Following the prayers, families and community members exchanged greetings and gathered to celebrate the occasion with festive meals and acts of charity. Many people also distributed food and essentials among the needy as part of the festival’s traditions.
The celebrations were marked by an atmosphere of peace, harmony, and togetherness, with people across different communities extending Eid wishes and participating in the festive spirit despite the rainy weather.
