A major power outage at the District Hospital in Mapusa reportedly caused significant disruption to healthcare services on Monday, leaving patients, visitors and medical staff struggling for several hours.
According to information circulating on social media, the electricity supply at the hospital was interrupted around 4 pm and remained unavailable for nearly three hours. The prolonged outage reportedly affected several critical areas within the hospital premises.

With power supply disrupted, lifts were said to be non-functional, creating difficulties for patients and attendants moving between floors. Several sections of the hospital were also left without adequate lighting, while concerns were raised about the functioning of essential medical equipment during the blackout.
The outage reportedly created challenges for doctors, nurses and other hospital staff, who had to continue providing services under difficult conditions. Visitors and patients were also said to have faced inconvenience as hospital operations slowed down.
