Goa schools will reopen on June 6 as scheduled, with the ongoing heatwave and delayed onset of the monsoon having no impact on the academic calendar, Education Director Shailesh Zingade has confirmed.
Addressing concerns over prevailing weather conditions, Zingade stated that there are no plans to postpone the reopening of schools and that all educational institutions are expected to commence the new academic year as per schedule.

He also informed that funds for raincoats and school uniforms are being transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible students to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming monsoon season and the start of classes.
On the issue of school infrastructure, the Education Director said that renovation and maintenance works across schools are nearing completion. While a few minor issues remain to be addressed, no major construction or repair works are pending that could affect the reopening of schools.
The department has been monitoring preparedness across educational institutions to ensure a smooth start to the academic year. Officials expressed confidence that schools are ready to welcome students back and that all necessary arrangements have been put in place ahead of the reopening.
