A German Shepherd allegedly stolen from a residence in Borda was successfully traced to Seraulim following a social media campaign, leading to the dog’s safe reunion with its owner.
According to reports, the incident came to light after alerts circulated on social media helped identify the location of the missing pet. The District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA) has since approached the Fatorda Police, urging the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the alleged theft.
The animal welfare organisation has also submitted CCTV footage that reportedly captures the suspect involved in the incident, seeking a thorough investigation by the authorities.
Although the dog was recovered and reunited with its owner, it was found to be in a weakened and dehydrated condition. The animal was immediately provided with veterinary treatment and is currently receiving the necessary care.
The incident has sparked concern among pet owners and animal welfare activists, who have called for strict action against those involved in the alleged theft and mistreatment of animals.
