What was expected to be a romantic honeymoon for a newly married couple turned into a family vacation, eventually leading to an irreparable marital dispute and a divorce plea in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district.
The case involves a woman from the Ramraj area of Meerut and a man from Delhi’s Patel Nagar, whose marriage was arranged through a matrimonial website. According to reports, the conflict began shortly after their wedding when the couple travelled to Nainital for their honeymoon.

To the wife’s surprise, the husband chose to bring his parents and siblings along on the trip, leaving little opportunity for the newlyweds to spend private time together. The unexpected family presence reportedly became a major point of contention, triggering frequent arguments after they returned home.
The wife maintained that a honeymoon should allow a couple to bond and begin their married life together, but said her husband’s decision deprived them of that experience.
The husband, who studied hospitality management in Singapore, reportedly defended his decision by saying he wanted his entire family to enjoy the vacation and insisted that there was nothing inappropriate about including them in the trip.
The disagreement intensified when the couple later planned a holiday to Dubai. According to reports, the wife expected the trip to be exclusively for the two of them, but the husband once again expressed his intention to take his family along, further straining the relationship.
As tensions escalated, the matter reached the local police station, where officials initially attempted to mediate the dispute. When reconciliation efforts proved unsuccessful, the case was referred to the Family Counselling Centre.
Counsellors conducted three separate sessions with the couple, giving both parties an opportunity to present their grievances and attempting to find common ground. During the counselling process, both husband and wife reportedly made serious allegations against each other.
Despite repeated efforts to resolve their differences, neither side was willing to compromise. With all three counselling sessions ending without a breakthrough, the couple ultimately remained firm in their decision to separate, bringing their troubled marriage to an apparent end.
