Residents of Mainawada in Korgao have expressed serious concerns over the precarious condition of a cashew tree and a mango tree located close to electricity lines, warning that they pose a major safety hazard, especially during the ongoing monsoon season.
According to locals, the trees have become unstable after hill-cutting activities carried out on both sides of the road over the past six months allegedly damaged and exposed their roots, leaving them without adequate support. The mango tree, in particular, stands directly in front of an electricity pole and overhead power lines, raising fears that it could collapse during heavy rains and strong winds.

The road is reportedly used daily by residents from nearly 20 Catholic households, besides schoolchildren who walk along the stretch every morning, making the situation even more alarming.
Residents claim that a resolution highlighting the issue has already been submitted to the local panchayat. However, they allege that no corrective measures have been taken so far despite repeated appeals.
With the monsoon intensifying, locals have urged the authorities to immediately inspect the site and remove the potential danger before it leads to an accident involving pedestrians, vehicles, or electrical infrastructure.
