Goans Hockey Distributes Kits to Loyola High School Students to Mark Olympic Day

To commemorate Olympic Day and encourage the growth of hockey at the grassroots level, Goans Hockey distributed hockey kits to students of Loyola High School on Thursday.

The kits were handed over by Digambar Kamat in the presence of school authorities, hockey enthusiasts and members of the local sporting community.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamat emphasized the importance of promoting sports among young students and ensuring they have access to the resources needed to develop their talents. He noted that such initiatives are essential for nurturing future hockey players and strengthening the sport’s foundation in Goa.

The programme was held under the theme, “Stronger Roots, Stronger Future – Together for Hockey, Together for Goa,” reflecting a shared commitment to fostering hockey in schools and creating greater opportunities for aspiring athletes across the state.

Organisers said the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to revive and strengthen hockey at the grassroots level by encouraging student participation and providing the necessary equipment and support to young players.

The event was well received by students and educators, who welcomed the effort to promote sports development and inspire the next generation of hockey talent in Goa.
