A police constable attached to Mapusa Police Station has been placed under suspension following the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against him. According to an order issued by the Superintendent of Police, North Goa, Police Constable Sandesh Nagoji has been suspended with effect from June 27, 2026.
The suspension order states that Nagoji is involved in a criminal case registered at Mandrem Police Station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. Pending further proceedings, the disciplinary action has been initiated in accordance with service rules.
During the suspension period, Nagoji’s headquarters have been fixed at the North District Reserve Line Force in Porvorim. He has been instructed not to leave the designated headquarters without obtaining prior permission from the competent authority.
The order further directs the suspended constable to immediately deposit all official kit articles and his appointment certificate with the Police Inspector of Mapusa Police Station. Authorities have also clarified that he will be entitled to receive a subsistence allowance as per the applicable government rules during the period of suspension.
The suspension will remain in force until further orders, while departmental and legal proceedings continue.
