Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially married

Pop icon Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce have tied the knot in a dazzling Madison Square Garden wedding officiated by actor Adam Sandler.

The festivities kicked off on Thursday with a much smaller “‘pre-party” gathering. By Friday, the celebrations had scaled up dramatically, with the main ceremony drawing a star-studded guest list that included actors Hugh Grant, Jason Sudeikis, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, singer Benson Boone, model Gigi Hadid, and members of Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs. A convoy of blacked-out SUVs slipped through a pop-up tent outside Madison Square Garden, shielding guests from public view, while the high-profile event temporarily shut down one of Manhattan’s busiest corridors.

Instead of having traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen, the couple chose to have their brothers by their side. Taylor Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, took on the role of her man of honour, while Travis Kelce’s older brother, Jason Kelce, stood beside him as best man. According to Swift’s publicist, the couple wore Christian Dior ensembles designed by the brand’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson. “This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity,” Paine said in a statement. She also revealed that the couple completed their looks with custom-made Christian Louboutin shoes, while Swift accessorised with Cartier jewellery.

As evening fell on Friday, at around 7.30 pm, the giant digital billboard outside Madison Square Garden flashed the message, “JusT&T Married”, a subtle play on the newlyweds’ initials. Rather than relying on media reports or guest posts, the couple appeared to reveal the news themselves, a move that delighted fans online. “This is the most Taylor Swift way to announce her marriage. I love her (sic),” one user wrote. Another added, “The fact that they were actually the first ones to tell us through this billboard. Not the press, not guests. It was THEM who broke the news (sic).”

Despite temperatures soaring to 37C (98.6F), Swifties, the singer’s devoted fanbase, packed the streets surrounding the arena, hoping to catch a glimpse of the celebrations. Some fans climbed nearby scaffolding for a better vantage point, while others sang along to their favourite Taylor Swift songs and shouted, “We love you, Taylor”. Among them was Canadian teenager Emily, who told the BBC, “I thought it was going to be more gardens, more flowers, more tropical. Something more fancy, something more Taylor Swift.”

What began with a friendship bracelet at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in July 2023 soon turned into one of pop culture’s biggest love stories. Swift and Travis Kelce won over fans with everything from her headline-making NFL appearances and his surprise Eras Tour stage cameo to the rise of “Tayvis” and songs inspired by their romance. After announcing their engagement in August 2025, the couple finally tied the knot, bringing their whirlwind journey to a fairytale ending.
