Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has called on farmers across Goa to embrace group farming as a means of enhancing agricultural productivity and creating better economic opportunities for the farming community.
Addressing farmers during the Krushi Pe Charcha programme, Dr. Sawant stressed the importance of collective farming practices, saying that farmers working together can make more efficient use of available resources, increase crop yields and strengthen the state’s agriculture sector.
The Chief Minister also encouraged farmers to diversify cultivation by exploring new crops, including turmeric, which he said holds promising potential for Goa’s agricultural economy.
Emphasising the need for innovation, Dr. Sawant urged the farming community to adopt modern and sustainable agricultural practices that can improve profitability while ensuring the long-term growth of the sector.
He said collaborative efforts at the village level would not only boost production but also help build a more resilient and sustainable agricultural ecosystem in the state.
