A 62-year-old man was killed after a massive roadside tree suddenly collapsed onto the busy Matve–Dabolim–Vasco road, trapping him beneath it on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Fransisco Nunes, a resident of Jetty, Sada, Vasco.

The incident triggered major traffic disruption as emergency response teams rushed to the spot and undertook operations to remove the fallen tree and clear the roadway. Despite rescue efforts, Nunes succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
