A unique workplace celebration at Bengaluru-based proptech firm NoBroker has caught the attention of social media after founder and CEO Amit Kumar Agarwal rode a brand-new scooter through the company’s office before presenting it to an employee as a reward for outstanding performance.
The now-viral video, shared by Agarwal on X, captured employees cheering and applauding as he rode the scooter across the office floor with a broad smile. The vehicle was later handed over to the employee who had earned it as part of the company’s rewards programme following a record-breaking quarter for the Packers and Movers division.
Sharing the video, Agarwal joked that he had “a very important job that day — ride a scooty.” He explained that while several rewards were distributed to celebrate the team’s achievement, the scooter deserved a more memorable presentation because it represented months of dedication and hard work by employees.
The NoBroker CEO stressed that the company’s success was not the result of one department alone but of multiple teams working together. He said the sales team brought in customers, the servicing team ensured a smooth customer experience, and the partner management team kept operations running efficiently behind the scenes. Without the contribution of each team, he said, the milestone would have remained only a target on a presentation slide.
Reflecting on the celebration, Agarwal said the best way to thank employees was not through a formal ceremony but by personally joining in the festivities, even if it meant looking “a little silly” for a few moments. He clarified that after taking a short ride around the office, the scooter was handed over to its rightful winner.
The video received widespread appreciation online, with many social media users praising the CEO’s hands-on approach and saying the gesture reflected a positive workplace culture that values teamwork, employee recognition and shared celebrations.
