Large crater-like potholes have appeared at the KTC Bus Stand in Margao, raising serious concerns over commuter safety and the deteriorating condition of one of South Goa’s busiest public transport hubs.
The massive potholes, which resemble lunar craters, have developed following continuous monsoon rains and heavy vehicular movement through the bus stand. The damaged surface has made it difficult for buses and other vehicles to manoeuvre safely, while pedestrians are also at risk of accidents.

Commuters and bus operators have expressed frustration over the poor condition of the premises, stating that the craters not only slow traffic movement but also pose a danger to passengers boarding and alighting from buses. During rainfall, the potholes become filled with water, making it difficult to judge their depth and increasing the risk of mishaps.
Regular commuters have urged the authorities to undertake immediate repair work before the damage worsens. They said the bus stand, which serves thousands of passengers every day, requires urgent maintenance to ensure the safety and convenience of the travelling public.
The deteriorating condition of the KTC Margao Bus Stand has once again highlighted the need for timely infrastructure maintenance, especially during the monsoon season when roads and public transport facilities are subjected to increased wear and tear.
