Goa Forest Minister Deviya Rane has urged visitors to exercise caution at waterfalls and forest water bodies following the recent drowning of a student in Sattari.
Rane said the location where the incident occurred is not managed by the Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC) and falls under the jurisdiction of the Forest Department. She said the student had entered the site without a ticket.

Rane pointed out that several waterfalls and forest water bodies in Goa remain outside the direct management of tourism-related agencies. She appealed to visitors to follow warning signs and safety advisories, particularly during the monsoon, when water levels can rise rapidly.
She also stressed that visitors must avoid restricted or dangerous areas and exercise personal responsibility.
