An Alliance Air flight from Delhi to Bilaspur suffered a tyre burst while landing at Bilaspur Airport on Friday morning, triggering a brief scare.
The aircraft was carrying 37 passengers and four crew members, with all 41 people safely evacuated. No injuries or casualties were reported.
According to officials, the aircraft’s left-side tyre developed a problem as it touched down at around 11 am. Airport and airline personnel immediately evacuated the passengers and crew and moved them from the runway to the terminal building.
The aircraft remained at the airport following the incident, while the airline cancelled its scheduled onward flight from Bilaspur.
The exact cause of the tyre failure is yet to be established. The aircraft is expected to undergo inspection and assessment by the airline and airport authorities before being cleared for further operations.
