Sanguem hotel kitchen collapses

The closure of a hotel in Sanguem for five days due to Ganesh Chaturthi proved providential for the employees, when a portion of the kitchen wall collapsed on Monday morning.
The Central Café at Sanguem was closed for five days on account of Ganesh Chaturthi and at least three workers in the kitchen were off on Monday, when the kitchen wall collapsed.
The wall reportedly collapsed due to the seepage of water through the side mud walls of the adjoining shop, which is owned by Sanguem Municipal Council (SMC).
The hotel owner, Dangui, though suffered losses was thankful to Lord Ganesha for the safety of his workers.
“The loss would have been more if the incident was to take place on a working day,” claimed Dangui.
Besides the roof tiles and rafters, damages were also caused to the utensils and other electronic gadgets used in the hotel. SMC Chief Officer Vassant Parwar reportedly visited the site in the morning to ascertain the cause of damage.
