According to the locals, the driver of the private truck was involved in dumping of garbage at Mormugao Municipality-owned garbage treatment plant without permission from the municipal authorities. When they noticed the same all of them got together and caught the truck red handed.
“We have received a complaint that one private tipper truck has been frequently moving towards the Sada garbage plant with load of garbage; and today we found that a private truck driver was rushing to the garbage treatment plant and dumped the garbage outside the compound wall of the plant and fled from the scene. Thus, when the truck driver returned with another load of garbage, we all caught him and handed him over to Mormugao police. We have sought action against the driver for using private vehicles for brining garbage,” Mesta said.
The private truck along with garbage was taken to Mormugao Police station and Mormugao police is further investigating the case.
