Maruti April sales up 15.09%

New Delhi, May 1 Leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) today said its sales increased 15.09 per cent in April this year at 71,748 vehicles from 62,336 units sold in the same month last year.

Leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) today said its sales increased 15.09 per cent in April this year at 71,748 vehicles from 62,336 units sold in the same month last year.     
In the domestic market, sales was up nine per cent at 64,857 units as against 59,539 units in April last year, while exports increased 146 per cent at 6,891 units as compared to 2,797 units last year, the company said.    
The company sold 2,345 units of its oldest model M800 in April, down 47 per cent from its sales of 4,458 units last year.
While the A2 segment comprising Alto, Wagon R, Zen Estillo, Swift and A-Star registered a growth rate of nine per cent at 46,817 units as against 43,121 units sold in the same month last year, the A3 segment, consisting of SX4 and Dzire, surged 69 per cent at 7,066 units as against 4,187 units.
