NEW DELHI: Churchill Brothers midfielder Lenny Rodrigues was voted best player of the 2012-13 League by the coaches and captains of all I-League teams which played in the last edition. The National team medio played a stellar role as Churchill Brothers landed the I-League title for the second time.

“I would like to thank God for all his blessings. I would like to thank my family for encouraging me to take up the sport. Finally I would like to thank my team-mates, coaching staff and the owners of Churchill Brothers. We are one big extended family at Churchill and I hope to give my best for this club for many more years to come,” Lenny expressed.
Nigerian striker Ranti Martins was voted best player of the 2012-13 League. Ranti, who played for Prayag United topped the goal-scorer’s list with 27 goals to his name. Ranti also bagged the award for the best forward of the I-League.
Meanwhile, former Churchill Brothers goalkeeper Sandip Nandy was adjudged the best goalkeeper while East Bengal defender Uga Okpara was voted the best defender.
AIFF’s Developmental Team Pailan Arrows bagged the fair play award.
The best coach for the I-League 2012-13 will be decided in the next AIFF Executive Committee meeting.

Best goalkeeper: Sandip Nandy; 2nd best goalkeeper: Karanjit Singh; 3rd best goalkeeper: Subhasish Roychowdhury.
Best defender: Uga Okpara; 2nd best defender: Bello Razzak; 3rd best defender: Bilal Najjarin.
Best midfielder: Lenny Rodrigues; 2nd best midfielder: Douhou Pierre; 3rd best midfielder: Mehtab Hossain.
Best forward: Ranti Martins; 2nd best forward: Chidi Edeh; 3rd best forward: James Moga.
