CB sources said they are likely to move the SC next week. “We are taking legal opinion. We received the judgment copy on Saturday. It needs to be carefully studied before contesting the order in the Apex Court,” a senior officer told Herald.
The high court uploaded the 60-page order on its official website on Saturday, a day after it upheld the Special Court’s order on August 19 granting the former minister anticipatory bail. The single bench of Justice C V Bhadang observed that Kamat, shown as prime conspirator in the chargehseet, has been named as ‘suspect’.
“Prima facie, here is a situation where, in the chargesheet although the respondent (Kamat) is stated to be the principal conspirator, chargesheet is filed against the co-accused, showing the principal conspirator as a suspect. Be that as it may, as the further investigation is still stated to be in progress…” the order reads.
