This has reference to the letter ‘Bizarre Politics’ written by SND Poojary in Herald on May 12, 2016 where he states, “The chief of AAP came to prominence riding piggy-back on Anna Hazare on Anna’s anti-corruption platform.”
A brief reminisce way back in the early 2000s, as an officer of the elite Indian Revenue Service Arvind Kejriwal was already a name of repute in the National Capital for his unending endeavours on anti-corruption front unleashed through the NGO Parivartan. In 2006, this IIT alumni from Kharagpur under the category of Emergent Leadership was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award which is incidentally equivalent to Asia’s Noble Prize.
The single most reason for Arvind Kejriwal and his ilk from the then India Against Corruption (2011-2012) movement to enter politics on November 26, 2012 was to purge the body polity which unfortunately has been for ages a platform for scoundrels to embezzle public funds. AAP’s ideology is Swaraj i.e. delegating power directly to the people and its mission is redefining politics as citizen centric honest governance for pan India.
Mr Poojary penalises Arvind Kejriwal “now corruption is no longer his priority ”. Importantly, in last October a serving minister in Delhi AAP government, Asim Ahmed Khan who was holding the charge of food and environment was sacked by Arvind Kejriwal on corruption charges.
Mr Poojary also says Arvind Kejriwal “is a man of gimmicks. The ‘odd-even’ formula for controlling air pollution in Delhi is a childish measure.” AAP’s odd-even formula to safeguard National Capital’s fragile environment has been a runaway success because it took feedback from the residents of the city.
On behalf of countless volunteers of AAP one invites Mr Poojary, who like many others, are not enlightened about the character of AAP to the Goa public meeting at Campal ground on May 22, 2016. After listening to the stirring honest governance pro people message delivered by Arvind Kejriwal to Goenkar, I am sanguine that Poojary Bab would finally offer bouquets instead of brickbats to AAP and its national convener.
