PANJIM: Hosts Betalbatim Sports Club suffered a shock 2-4 loss via the tie breaker against a spirited Ambelim Sports Club in the inaugural match of the V Deluxe Lourdes Festival Cup 2013 organised by United Club of Utorda and played at S.A.G. grounds, Utorda.
Ambelim were the distinctly superior side but they could not convert their superiority in
terms of goals. With neither side able to score during regulation time, the tie breaker had to be resorted to, where Ambelim scored through Richard Fernandes, Cajetan Fernandes, Clifton Fernandes and Liston D’Silva. For the hosts, only Desmond Fernandes and Kinsley D’Souza could convert their tries while Bernard Rodrigues and Kevin Pereira blasted wide.
