PONDA: Controversial Sree Ram Sene (SRS) Chief Pramod Muthalik on Wednesday reiterated that his organisation would set up a base in Goa to oppose cow slaughter, illegal conversion and pub culture in the State.
Addressing a news conference after arriving in Goa to participate in the Hindu Convention at Ramnathi-Ponda, Muthalik described himself as a gentleman who is being targeted by the government, politicians and Christian organisations.
“I am visiting Goa since the past four years and I have been attending the convention since the last two years. Even though the SRS hasn’t started its unit in Goa as yet, Goa’s political leaders and Christian organisations are opposing the SRS,” said Muthalik.
“Why are they afraid of SRS? Is it because we will find out their faults and they will be in trouble? Sree Ram Sene is a registered body and those opposing us are fools and idiots. Both the BJP and Congress have also opposed SRS during their rule,” said Muthalik.
He said the SRS will come to Goa in September and will overcome opposition from the government and other organisations.
“Let the government show its power and Sene will show its might. The SRS is not a Taliban or some terrorist organisation, but is patriotic and is working for the betterment of the society.”
“We will come to Goa and will oppose all illegal activities, including cow slaughter, conversions and pub culture. Training will be provided to Goan youth to fight against these evils within the purview of law and the RTI Act.”
